Kiwanis Club of Kingsburg completed its annual Feel Good Thursday fundraising project and it was the most successful one to date. Each year it has grown thanks to the many businesses, schools and individuals in Kingsburg and Selma who support this worthwhile project.

Feel Good Thursday involves Kiwanis Club members and Oasis High School student assembling and delivering pulled pork sandwiches with a fresh baked cookie and chips for lunch. The project has grown from selling an average of 150 sandwiches to selling over 250 this year. The proceeds are shared and benefit the Oasis High School, KHS Key Club and the Kiwanis, which the club uses to partially fund their many community obligations and senior high school scholarships.

We could not be as successful selling these sandwiches if not for the excellent preparation of meat by Rick Helm who donates his time. For many years we have received cookies donated by Baby Cakes and Ice Cream, Bella Rose and Diane's Village Bakery and this year due to the volume of cookies needed we asked and received a donation from Ideal Home Bakery.

Many thinks to the hours put in by the Kiwanis members themselves canvassing the community and selling the sandwiches and then helping assemble the sack lunches and delivering them.

It is a busy but fun day knowing that the sandwiches will be enjoyed and the money earned will go far to help children, the mission statement for Kiwanis. Than you to everyone who bought a sack lunch. We appreciate your support so much.

Pauline G. Nyberg, president Kiwanis Club of Kingsburg,
