Two more random shootings are being reported by the Fresno County Sheriff’s office bringing the number of total incidents to six. According to Public Information Officer Tony Botti, the incidents may be related and the department is asking for the public to remain alert as they drive.
The Sheriffs first reported that four shootings took place between Nov. 27 through Dec. 7 in Fresno and Madera counties. They issued more information Dec. 12 that another shooting took place at 3:30 p.m. Dec. 1 on North Dickenson Avenue near West Shields Avenue in Fresno County. A final shooting occurred around 5 p.m. on Dec. 11 near South Dickenson and West Church avenues in Fresno County. No one was injured in either of these incidents.
There is no clear description of the suspects or their vehicles in the incidents. The victims report hearing loud bangs as another vehicle passing in the opposite direction drives by. One woman has been injured in the random shootings, however her injuries were not life-threatening.
Drivers, especially in the location of the incidents, are being asked to be on alert as a motive has not been determined and the shootings are considered to be random.
