SELMA – The city of Selma is offering its last rabies vaccination and licensing clinic from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 24, at Second Chance Animal Shelter, 2831 W. Front St. Rabies vaccinations cost $10.
Pet owners must present a current rabies certificate valid through Dec. 31, 2018, in order to receive a city of Selma dog license for 2018. Dog licenses cost $20 per animal and may be purchased during the clinic. Licenses are only $10 per animal if the pets being licensed are spayed or neutered. Documentation must be presented at time of purchase. Seniors over the age of 62 receive a 50 percent discount on their dog license fees. Make checks payable to the city of Selma.
A 50 percent late fee is charged for any dog licensed after March 31.
If your pet does not need a rabies vaccination, it is not necessary to bring your dog, only a current rabies certificate.
