SELMA – Kaiser Permanente has donated $10,000 to the city of Selma’s Recreation and Community Services. The donation will benefit the Selma Activities League.
Grant funds will offset costs for parents who have a hardship with registration fees for their child to register for programs such as youth sports, dance, art or music classes, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.
The assistance will cover up to $75 and payments through this program will be made directly to the organization. No payments will be made to a parent. The assistance will cover registration fees only but not the costs of uniforms or equipment.
For information and an application, contact Mikal Kirchner at the Recreation and Community Services Department at 891-2237. Funding will be available beginning Nov. 6 and end on Aug. 31, 2018. Funds will be distributed only for hardships as well as spread out for a variety of programs.
The Recreation and Community Services Department office is located within the Senior Center at 2301 Selma St.
