Church: Backpacks given

SELMA – Senior Pastor Lisa Satterberg with the Take it By Force Global Church teamed up with Cindy Trimm Ministries International to provide backpacks filled with school supplies to students in Selma. Their backpack distribution was Aug. 17 at Lincoln Park.

“Trimm’s God-given vision is to impact and empower many regions with an adopt-a-city initiative,” Satterberg said. “This year, we were so thankful to be able to serve two regions of the Central Valley: Selma and McFarland. We greatly appreciate the presence of Selma’s Mayor Michael Derr and in McFarland, their Mayor Manuel Cantu.”

Satterberg said the event was made possible because of “all the gracious support we received from our awesome community. We look forward to teaming up with [the businesses] next year for our annual adopt-a-city backpack and school supplies giveaway.”

Satterberg thanked the following local businesses for their donations: Wal-Mart, United Health Care, J.C.Penny’s Selma, Rue21, Les Schwab, Sun-Maid Raisins, Coca-Cola, Panda Express, Don Juan Taqueria, Uniquely Yours, Kenoyer Pump Co., A-Okay Automotive, Bloomies Floral Gifts, Selma Cinema, It’s burger Time, Robertson Guerra Insurance Agency, Holiday Inn, Spike & Rail Restaurant, Little Caesar’s, Bead Central, Sweeney Farms, Adkins Farms, S & S Metal Fabrication, Designing Women, Fox Drug Store, Urban Cuts, Aimee’s Vanilla Bean Bakery, Capital Choice Financial & Insurance Services, Arevalo’s K-9 Korral, Ace Hardware and China Garden.
