SELMA – Selma High’s varsity cheer squad attended camp at the University of California, Santa Barbara from Aug. 1-4 and received training from The United Spirit Association.
Varsity coach Priscilla Fester and cheer adviser Ann Fester accompanied the squad.
Varsity received a superior rating in the pom and funky routine, cheer evaluations and individual routines and a superior plaque and most improved plaque, adviser Ann Fester said.
Varsity cheerleader Brianna Reyes tried out for “All American” and was selected to participate in the London New Year’s Day Parade and a tour of London.
“I am very proud of the varsity squad and in their hard work and determination to achieve the best, their positive team bonding and respect for one another and to their coaches and adviser,” Ann Fester said.
The cheerleaders, coaches and chaperones enjoyed the last day of the camp in Pismo Beach.
“Thank you to all the chaperones for your support and in helping out on the last day of camp. Thank you to coach Priscilla for all the time, effort and hard work that you give, and most of all for the love of the sport of cheer. Go bears,” Ann Fester said.
