Vehicles will once again fill Lincoln Park this weekend as the Selma Chamber of Commerce holds its annual Parkin’ in the Park Car Show on Sept. 16.
Dozens of vehicles will be on hand for viewing, along with live music, food vendors, raffles and more. Those who own the top-voted cars will receive an award and cash prizes.
“It’s an excellent opportunity to see some beautiful cars,” said Chamber Executive Director Bob Allen. “It’s always an uplifting event in the community because people from all over the Valley bring their pride and joys to show the community.”
This year, Allen said they have been working to provide more options to attendees than ever before. He said there will be more food and craft vendors this year.
“We wanted to make sure we had more variety for the event,” he said.

The first 150 registrants will receive a free breakfast from the Lions Club, a T-shirt and goodie bag filled with items such as calendars, fans and pens.
So far, Allen said about 50 vehicles have been registered. He expects there to be many more to come, as he said many people usually wait until the day of to register their vehicles for the show.
It costs $35 to register. The check-in time is 7-9:30 a.m., after which the vehicles will be judged and awards will be given out at 3 p.m. According to the chamber, the winner of Best of Show will receive $250 cash while the other winners will each receive $100 cash.
