He also said “Our nearest comparable city is Tulare, and they are at 78 sworn with 60,000 residents” which is 13 per 1,000.

Since then Prop 47 passed in California have effects of “while drug arrests are down, property crimes are up, the jails are also less crowded with many minor drug offenders either not being arrested or just given a citation without being taken to jail.”

Having knowledge of all these terrible results I would hope the new Hanford City Council just sworn in would have a study session to determine how many police officers we should have per 1,000 citizens and if we should count the school police officers in that number.

While I think Public Safety is top priority they should also decide how much park land we should have for our current population.
