Wallace G. Findley was born in Fresno on August, 20, 1928, to Ethel and Kenneth Findley. He grew up in Fresno and graduated from Fresno High. He received Christ as his Lord and Savior when he was 13 years old. Later, he was a charter member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church.
Wallace went to work for PG&E at the age of 18. He worked in a variety of positions over the course of his career and retired as an office manager after 40 years with the company. He joined the army in 1950 where he served as a cook in the officers' mess hall at Fort Ord.
In 1955, he married Winifred Jantz and moved to Kingsburg to make their home. They had a son, Reginald, in 1956, and a daughter, Shelly, in 1960. While living in Kingsburg, they joined the Kingsburg First Baptist Church where Wally was a deacon and worked with the Boys Brigade. He also volunteered his time with the Boy Scouts organization.
Wally and his family later moved to Dinuba where he was an active member in the Dinuba First Baptist Church. He served as the church's financial secretary for five years. He was also a member of the Dinuba Kiwanis Club, in which he held every office including president. He valued time with his family, traveling, and working on projects around his home.
On February 7, 2018, he headed to Heaven to be forever with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Winifred Findley; his son, Reginald Findley and his wife, Mari; his daughter, Shelley Bass; three grandchildren, Brooke Findley, Scott Findley, and Andrew Bass; and one great grandson, Wesley Bass.
