Tony Paul Lawrence,

May 8, 1961 - November 12, 2017

On November 12, 2017, Anthony (Tony) Paul Lawrence, surrounded by his family, was welcomed into heaven after a short, courageous battle with cancer. Anthony was born on May 8, 1961 to Tony and Ann Lawrence of Lemoore, Ca. He attended Island School where his love for music began. He started his first band in the 8th grade, dressing up as KISS, much to the dismay of his teachers. He then went on to Riverdale High School where he participated in football and developed his skills in welding and ag mechanics. Tony also continued his love of music, playing in bands throughout high school and college. He graduated from West Hills College with an Associate's Degree in Agriculture where he was named Academic Student of Year and then went on to attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo majoring in Dairy Science.

As a child and young adult, Tony worked side by side with his father and brothers in the family dairy business. He began feeding calves as soon as he was tall enough to carry a 5-gallon bucket and continued to work along with his family building one of Kings Counties top producing dairies in the 1970's and 1980's.

Tony began his career in the dairy equipment and chemical hygiene business with Babson Brosestfalia Surge in the 1990's. His strong technical and mechanical abilities were soon recognized and Tony began traveling the United States troubleshooting dairy equipment problems for the company. After several years of traveling, Tony decided to take a position in the chemical hygiene division of Westfalia Surge. He became a hygiene tech for WS West proving himself as a very valuable member of the sales and service team. He was quickly promoted to Dairy Direct Sales Manager and lead a sales and tech support team for over 15 years. He felt great pride in the success of WS West and considered the people he worked with as his family. Tony's vast knowledge of the mechanical, technical and chemical aspects of dairy barn operations is well known in the industry. And he was always willing to share that knowledge by mentoring others.

Over the last few years, Tony was able to capitalize on his experience and strong reputation, building his own successful dairy chemical and maintenance business.

Throughout his life, Tony's love for music, especially Rock ‘n Roll, was well known. He spent countless hours jamming at home with the great Rock ‘n Roll bands of the 1970's and 1980's and traveled all over California, with his wife, to watch them perform. He loved to collect guitars and would rebuild them with vintage electronics in order to achieve the old iconic sounds. He would always say “it's all about the tone.”

Tony also loved to travel and cook. He, along with his wife Teri, loved to entertain family and friends at their homes in Lemoore and Cayucos, where the food was great, the music loud and of course there was always dancing.

Tony was very much loved and will be missed by many. He is survived by his loving wife, Teri, and his children, Grant and Lacey Lawrence and Nicholas and Tyler Dutra. His mother, Ann (Earl) Williams, brother Larry (Darla) Lawrence, sisters Julie (Dennis) Thomas and Melanie (Tom) Shelley, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Tony Lawrence and brother, Michael Lawrence.

A Celebration of Tony's life will be held on Saturday, November 18th, at 10:00am at South Valley Community Church, 1050 W Bush St., Lemoore, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society in Tony's name is appreciated.
