Steven Wayne Wells
March 6, 1957-March 27, 2018
Steven Wayne Wells was born March 6, 1957 in Selma, California, to Wayne and Imagene Wells. He was the youngest of their three children. He died March 27, 2018 at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto following a sudden illness.
Steve was raised in Selma, and graduated from Selma High School. He was a salesman for the family business, Wells Used Cars, for about 30 years.
Steve enjoyed racing cars, riding motorcycles, boating at Redinger Lake, hydrosliding and waterskiing, flying planes, riding a unicycle, collecting firearms, hunting, eating spicy foods, talking with family and friends, and entertaining people with jokes.
Many people knew Steve through the Selma and Kingsburg 'Friends of NRA' events, as well as by his many years attending Grace Free Will Baptist Church.
Steve was a dedicated and loving son, brother, husband, partner, father, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He spent two decades with Patricia Frazer, raising three children in that time: Ryan, Tashara, and Trevor.
In 2008, Steve married his high school sweetheart, Janet Schneider, during a unique wedding ceremony at the graves of his parents at the Floral Memorial Park cemetery in Selma. He'd wanted his parents to be present, in some capacity, when he said his vows.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, and stepson John Schneider. He is survived by his brother Eugene (Lynda) Wells of Del Rey; sister Patricia (Richard) Whitaker of Selma; wife Janet Wells of Selma; children Michael Ryan Wells of Selma, Tashara (Brad) Horton of Rolla, MO, and Trevor (Sidni) Wells of Springfield, MO; their mother Patricia Frazer of Ava, MO; nephew Cameron (Rene) Wells of Selma; nieces Victoria (Preston) Ballinger and Jessica (Justin) Tate, both of Selma; niece Amanda Whitaker of Oregon; stepson Paul Schneider of Selma; several grandchildren; many cousins; and many friends.
