Merilyn “Mimi” Snow White Walston of Solvang, California passed away peacefully November 22, 2017 surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Carl Rex Walston, her three children, Lynn Louise Walston Golden(Tony Golden), Mark Rex Walston (Valerie C. Walston) and Noelle Irene Walston Burg(Donny Burg). Also, her five grandchildren Eric C. Walston, Tyler Walston Fox, Georgia Belle Lynn Fox, Savannah Noelle Golden, and Gabriel E. C. Golden and her sister Irene Krumvieda, her children and grandchildren.

Mimi was born March 18, 1933 and grew up in the small central valley town of Selma, California. The daughter of Dr. G. W. Eric White and Ottie Belle Johnson White. She attended local Selma Schools and Stanford University where she met her husband, Carl. They were wed December 19, 1953 a the Selma Methodist Church. After Carl completed his three year military commitment and OCS at Ft. Polk, LA where Mimi gave birth to the twins, Lynn and Mark, May 29, 1957, they moved to Connecticut to begin their new life. Their third child, Noelle, was born March 2, 1964.They resided in Greenwich, CT. for the last 37 years of their 45 years in Connecticut. Following their retirement, they returned to California in 2001 to join two of their children and grandchildren.

Mimi was a musician from childhood, playing the piano, oboe, and violin. For most of her adult life, Mimi sang soprano, beginning in the Greenwich Choral Society(even venturing as far as singing in the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France), Santa Barbara Choral Society, and the Santa Ynez Chorale. She was a lifelong impressionist painter. When their youngest child turned twelve, Mimi became a realtor. Hobbies included shelling in Sanibel, Florida, playing bridge, gardening, and bravely driving across country.Mimi leaves behind a legacy of bright-colored love and deep friendships.

Graveside Service, Saturday, December 16th, at 10:00 am, at the Floral Memorial Cemetery in Selma, CA.
