Manuel L. “Bill” Serpa

Manuel L. “Bill” Serpa, 85, passed away Sunday October 22, 2017, in Hanford, CA. Bill was born December 20, 1931 to Manuel and Mary Serpa, in Hanford. He lived in San Jose for many years before moving back to Hanford.
Bill served his country in the US Navy for 6 years. He served on board the USS Kearsage during the Korean War. He was a champion boxer in the Navy and was a 56 time wrist wrestling champion. He retired as an iron worker having worked on the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge and numerous Skyscrapers. In his leisure time Bill was a masseuse and volunteered with several veterans organizations.
Bill is survived by his sister Mary Anne Puccinelli of San Jose, niece Judy Rarick of South Carolina and Step-daughter Pam McCracken of Washington. Also surviving are his cousins Rodney Evangelho, Lathal Domingos, and Manuel Pereira as well as several great nieces and nephews.
Bill will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Visitation for Bill will take place on Thursday, October 26, 2017 from 5-7pm with a rosary vigil at 6pm at Whitehurst McNamara Funeral Home, 100 W. Bush St., Hanford, CA. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017 at 12:30pm at Calvary Cemetery, 11680 S. 10th Ave., Hanford, CA.
