Lynda Marie (Alvarez) Simon
December 21, 1942-February 17, 2018
Lynda Marie (Alvarez) Simon 75, died on Feb.17th In Fresno, CA after an 18 year battle with Alzheimer's.
Lynda is lovingly remembered by her husband Robert (Bob) Simon of Hanford; her brothers Raymond (Mickey) & Rosa Alvarez, Roger & Cyndy Aguirre of Hanford, Michael Alvarez. Lynda's sisters Barbara Garcia of Eastvale, CA; Mona Shipp and Merilou Aguirre of Hanford, Dr. Sandy (Alvarez) Pfister of Alabama, Rosemary (Alvarez) Logsden of San Diego, CA and sister in laws Betty (Simon) Miller of ID & Gale Aguirre of Hanford. Lynda had numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother Angie J Aguirre and Step Father David B Aguirre, her father Raymond Alvarez Sr, Brother Danny Alvarez and sister Colleen Alvarez Piper.
Lynda was a 1960 graduate from Hanford High, Graduated College of Sequoias, and attended Fresno State University.
Her accomplishments were many. She worked for Sacred Heart hospital, was a floral designer for 20 years, and assisted her husband Bob with his business “Bob Simon Septic Tank Service” for many years. She was a devoted wife and homemaker.
Lynda had a social side. She was a member of the following organizations: Pocahontas, SPRSI and Native Daughters of the Golden West, where she devoted endless hours of service. She was chairwoman for the Kings County election board for many years. She spent most of her hours at the Armona Volunteer Fire Dept.
Lynda's enthusiasm, friendliness and bright green eyes drew people to her she never met a stranger. Her door and heart were always open to everyone.
We are all grateful for the time we had with her may we always remember Lynda for the vibrant person that made our lives so much better.
