Lexe Lorraine Pearson

August 28, 1952-February 26, 2018

Lexe Lorraine Pearson was born Lexe Lorraine Avilla in San Francisco on August 28th 1952 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 26th of this year in the same hospital that she entered this world.

Although born in the city, she was raised in the little community of Sonoma. At age 18, she was converted to Christ under the ministry of Billy Graham. She followed Jesus all the days of her life from that time forward. She moved to the city of Santa Rosa, and worked as the office manager for the day care and Christian school at a large church there. The church had a Bible school and when a young Bible school student from Bakersfield showed up, she accepted a date with him and the following year on August 7th of 1976, she was wedded to that young student Eric Pearson. When he was credentialed as a minister with the Assemblies of God, she faithfully followed him to wherever God's leading took them. Their journey into the ministry began in June of 1979 and concluded in Hanford in May of this year. Along the way to Hanford, there were several stops, beginning at First Assembly of God in Windsor, California, followed by the Assembly of God in Alpaugh, Calvary Assembly of God in Porterville, and then as the assistant pastor at Glad Tidings Church. When Glad Tidings planted a church in southwest Hanford, Calvary Christian Center, they went to become the second pastors there, and served for the next 21 ½ years.

Lexe was an amazing woman who contributed greatly to her husband's ministry. Her work in the church included piano and organ playing for worship and also ran the office. Her greatest work of ministry however was being a full time, stay at home mom to her two children during their formative years. Her involvement included numerous trips to band reviews, parades, concerts, etc. To help support her husband's ministry financially she was employed at Monroe elementary school in the office. When she was able financially, she went to work beside her husband at Calvary Christian Center, running the office.

Lexe is survived by her husband Eric, her two children, her son Aaron Michael and his wife Vickie of Lemoore, and her daughter Rachel Deanne and her husband Spencer of Englewood, Colorado. The true light of her life and great pride and joy were her three precious grandchildren, Aaron and Vickie's two Brenna and Liam, and Rachel and Spencer's little one Piper Rey. She surrounded her life with them and they with her. She is also survived by her sisters, Lindi Cannon (Wayne) of Healdsburg, Ca., Lori Avilla of Santa Rosa and niece Christi Ferraone of Windsor.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Betty Avilla.

A celebration of her life and ministry will be held this Friday, March 9th at 11:00 am at Glad Tidings Church; 750 E. Grangeville Blvd.

Family and Friends are invited to view Lexe's legacy at www.peoplesfuneralchapel.com and write condolences.
