Geri (Blanken) Prys
March 1, 1961 - September 2, 2017
Geri (Blanken) Prys, beloved wife and mother, joined her Lord and Savior on September 2, 2017 after a long fight with cancer. Geri's devotion to her family and firm belief in God brought great peace to her.
Geri was born in Hanford, CA on March 1, 1961 and is survived by her parents, Hiram (Bill) and Nancy Blanken. The oldest of three children, she is also survived by her sister, Melissa Nydam, and brother, Bill Blanken Jr.
She attended Hanford Christian School and then graduated from Immanuel High School in Reedley in 1979. She attained a bachelor's degree in nursing from Fresno State in 1985.Geri served in multiple departments at VMC in Fresno, as well as Hanford Community and Central Valley General Hospitals. She finished her career in 2017 at Adventist West in Hanford. Geri was well regarded and respected by her peers; she was the “go to” person in any crisis or situation.
Geri was married to Robert (Bob) Prys on December 4, 1992 in Hanford. During the next twenty-five years, they were blessed with three wonderful children: Marielle, Luke, and Calvin. Her children were her most cherished gifts from God.
Geri's favorite pastime was spending time with family while camping either at Morro Bay or Shaver Lake. Nothing made her happier than to have her extended family gathered together around a campfire.Though she will be greatly missed, Geri is now enjoying eternity with her Lord and Savior.
A service will be held at Trinity United Reformed Church on Saturday,97 at 11:00am. The family gratefully asks that any donations given be made in Geri's memory to Crossroads Pregnancy Center in Hanford. The family would appreciate your prayers at this time.
