0n Dec. 16, 2017 this good man passed away. Gerald was born in Hanford, Calif. and brought up on the family ranch in Lemoore, Calif. He served in the USAF during WWII, Korea, and RVN. As a pilot he amassed over 10,000 hours of flight time. In WWII Gerald flew the “Hump” into China. After retirement from the USAF Gerald moved to Shingle Springs in 1971 and was employed by the El Dorado County Welfare Office. More importantly, he was a great Dad, a wonderful Grandfather, and the best Great-grandfather any child could have. Gerald was pre-deceased by his wife Dora, Brother Leonard, Sisters June and Evelyn, and his parents Gus and Amelia. Gerald is survived by daughter Carolyn Whiteside and son George Lahargoue (Kathy), sisters Perina Wisert and Elsie Bettencourt, grandchildren Leslie (Doug), George (Janelle), and Ryan (Lindsay). Step –grandchildren Kendra (Ralph) and Darla (Don). Gerald was also survived by 12 Great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews who dearly loved him.

Graveside services will be held at Lemoore Cemetery on January 12, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
