Eugene A. Oliveira

January 23, 1951 – November 6, 2017

The family of Eugene (Gene) A. Oliveira are deeply saddened to share that our beloved husband, father and papa passed away at the age of 66 in the early morning on Monday, November 6, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

Gene was born on January 23, 1951 in Hanford to Frank and Mary Oliveira. Gene grew up in Armona alongside his four brothers, two sisters and one foster brother. He attended Armona Elementary and Hanford High School graduating in 1969. After graduation Gene enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Colorado where he proudly served his country. Shortly after he came home from the Army he met the love of his life Amadita Monte. Together they made a home and life for themselves in Hanford for 43 years. Raising three wonderful children, Matthew, Madalina and Matthies.

His relationship with the Lord was very important to him. He enjoyed being a member of Koinonia Church for over 25 years, many of those years spent being a dedicated member of the video ministry team. He worked in electrical wholesales for 35 years until he retired. Retirement allowed him time to discover a love for woodworking where he spent his days making small furniture pieces and beautiful birdhouses. He also loved gardening, maintaining quite a collection of succulent plants. Above all, his greatest love and joy was his grandchildren. He never missed an opportunity to attend one of their many sporting events and activities or a chance to just spend time with them. He cherished the often weekly sleepovers with his boys.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Oliveira of Armona and his brother John Oliveira of Sherwood, Oregon. He is survived by his loving wife Amadita of Hanford, his son Matthew Oliveira and wife Tori, daughter Madalina Meadows and husband Wyatt, son Matthies Oliveira and the lights of his life his grandchildren Blaine Oliveira, Peyton Oliveira, Alec Meadows, Logan Oliveira, Colton Oliveira, Drew Meadows and Maegen Hardcastle. He is also survived by siblings David Oliveira and partner Vic of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Beverly Oliveira and husband John of Goshen, Robert Oliveira and wife Monica of Hanford, Donald Oliveira and wife Marie of Brentwood, and Patricia Hutchings and husband Tim of Visalia. As well as his sisters in-law and brothers in-law, nieces and nephews, and cousins who all loved and will miss him dearly.

The family invites you to join them for a Memorial Service celebrating Gene's life, to be held at Koinonia Church on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10am.

Family and Friends are invited to view Gene's legacy at www.peoplesfuneralchapel.com and write condolences.
