Edward H. Nunes, Sr.
October 28, 1928 – December 12, 2017
Edward Nunes passed away on Tuesday evening, December 12, 2017 at the age of 89. He was born in Stratford, California on October 28, 1928 to John C., and Rosaline Nunes. He grew up in Lemoore. After high school, he served the US armed forces in Korea. In 1956, he married Angie Nunes of Hanford. Angie and Ed made their home in Lemoore where they raised their children Janet, and Ed Jr. He made a career of driving milk tanker trucks for various creameries in the area for over 30 years until his retirement from Dairyman's creamery in Tulare, in 1993.
Ed loved the country life, and being outdoors. He raised livestock, and took great pride in his yearly summer vegetable garden. He was also very proud of being a Lemoore high school graduate, and was always a driving force in organizing reunions with his classmates.
Ed's parents, his wife Angie, and his sister, Alice Nunes, precede him in death. He is survived by his daughter Janet Nunes, son Ed Nunes, Jr., and granddaughter Taylor Nunes, all of Lemoore, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
At Ed's request no visitation will be held. A Vigil Rosary Service will be held on Thursday, December 21 at 12:30 P.M. at St. Peter's Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 1:00 P.M. Also at Ed's request the burial will be private.
