LEMOORE — National Pursuit of Dreams, a non-partisan organization focused on the passage of the DREAM Act, will hold a fundraiser this Saturday to raise funds to support the organization’s efforts to inform the community about government immigration reforms such as Dream Acts and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.
“DREAM Run/Walk” will help the group continue to hold community workshops on these topics. General registration starts at 8 a.m. at the registration table where participants will be given a race number. The two-mile CIR (Comprehensive Immigration Reform) Run/Walk will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the one-mile DREAM Act Run/Walk at 10 a.m. Lastly, the 800 meter-Deferred Action Run/Walk will start at 10:30 a.m. and the Kid (10 years and under) Run/Walk will follow.
All participants will receive a DREAM race shirt. Prizes will be awarded to first-, second- and third-place winners for each division.
Registration costs are: CIR Run/Walk $20; DREAM Act Run/Walk $15; Deferred Action Run/Walk $10.
