HANFORD — Investigators are trying to locate a man who jumped inside a vehicle, stabbed the driver and stole his car.

Hanford Police Department officials said a 21-year-old male was driving his 2007 Infiniti in the area of the 1000 block of East Terrace Drive on Saturday when a man got into the passenger side of the vehicle and stabbed the victim multiple times.

Police said the victim ran from his vehicle to a nearby residence to get help and was later transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno with life threatening injuries. His condition is unknown at this time.

Police officials said the man then stole the victim’s car and fled. So far, officers said the victim’s car has not yet been located.

Investigators said they are actively following up on leads to positively identify the suspect.
