LEMOORE — A man was arrested Thursday morning after being caught in a stolen car in a gas station parking lot, sheriff’s officials said.
Deputies said the driver, identified as 29-year-old Johnny Gonzales of Hanford, was arrested without incident.
Just after midnight on Thursday, sheriff’s officials said a deputy stopped at the Fastrip store in Lemoore to get a drink when he noticed Gonzalez sitting in the driver seat of a 1992 Acura parked in the parking lot of the store.
The deputy ran the license plate of the Acura and it was found to be a reported stolen vehicle out of Hanford, officials said.
Deputies said Gonzales was on parole and because of the felony arrest, his parole agent put a parole hold on him, meaning he can’t be released from custody until the hold is lifted by the agent.
Officials said Gonzales was arrested on suspicion of unlawful taking or driving of a vehicle, receiving stolen property and parole violation.
