LEMOORE — Alcohol appears to be a factor in a single-vehicle rollover accident that occurred Monday, California Highway Patrol officials said.
On Monday at around 4:15 p.m., officers from the CHP Hanford area responded to a reported traffic collision in the area of State Route 41 and Glendale Avenue.
During the course of the investigation, officers determined 57-year-old Carol Ann Teves of Hanford was driving her 2004 Saturn southbound on State Route 41 north of Glendale Avenue.
For reasons still being investigated, officials said Teves failed to maintain her lane position and crashed into the center divider where her vehicle spun in a counter-clockwise manner and subsequently rolled over.
As a result of this severe rollover collision, officers said Teves suffered major injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.
Officials said Teves’ 52-year-old female passenger had only minor injuries and was not transported to any hospital.
CHP officials said this collision remains under investigation, but added it does appear alcohol was a factor.
