The California Highway Patrol will hold a checkpoint on Friday in unincorporated Kings County to look for people driving without a license or under the influence.

The CHP said it will focus its efforts on roads with a high frequency of stops for DUIs and unlicensed drivers. The goal is to “ensure the safe passage of each and every motorist,” according to a press release.

Funding for the checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
