HANFORD — A collision near Highway 43 and Kent Avenue left one person injured Tuesday, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A statement from the CHP said the accident happened around 2:30 p.m. when a PT Cruiser driving northbound on Highway 43 was hit from behind by a Ford F350 pickup being driven by Michael Marshall.
Officials said the driver of the PT Cruiser slowed the vehicle to make a turn onto Kent Avenue and Marshall failed to slow his truck down before rear-ending the PT Cruiser.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the PT cruiser suffered major injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno, CHP said, while Marshall claimed he was not hurt.
CHP said the collision remains under investigation and that drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be a factor.
