HANFORD — A Kings County deputy was in the right place at the right time when he drove up to a fight that left one man with multiple stab wounds, police said.

Hanford Police said the male victim had just met 22-year-old Noel Salcido at the Amtrak Station and both were at the 7-Eleven on 11th Avenue Monday night when Salcido came outside of the store with a knife in each hand and started chasing the victim and threatening to kill him.

Officers said before they arrived, a Kings County Sheriff’s deputy had driven up on the altercation in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven and stopped it from escalating.

When Hanford officers arrived at the scene around 11:10 p.m., they said they found the victim had one stab wound to his abdomen and one to his back.

Police said the victim was transported to the hospital due to his injuries and Salcido was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and booked into Kings County Jail.
