Sustainable/Organic production seminar: Today, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., International Agri Center, Banquet Hall, 4500 S. Laspina Dr., Tulare. The all day seminar will focus on sustainable and organic production in the Southern San Joaquin Valley. Subjects include: Update by Representatives of Kings and Tulare County Ag Commissioners, BioControl, Organic Alfalfa Production, Mealy Bug Control on Grapes, Organic Disease Control, Insect Management and a Organic Grower Panel. CEUs are offered for Certified Crop Advisers (5.0 hours), licensed Department of Pesticide Regulation Professionals (4.0 hours), CCN Pro, ISA, and Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. Kings County Job Fair: Sept. 14, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Hanford Civic Auditorium, 400 N. Douty St., Hanford. Join the Kings County Job Fair Committee as they host a job fair at the Hanford Civic Auditorium.

Short-term work experience program: The Kings County Job Training Office is supporting a short-term work experience program. JTO can fully underwrite the cost of worker wages and workers compensation insurance. The participating employer would provide training and worksite supervision. The training is planned to run for a maximum six months. Worksites are sought to sponsor a worker for up to 40 hours per week.
