LEMOORE - West Hills College Lemoore’s annual Teach Conference for college students, community members and high school students interested in becoming educators will be held Friday on the school's campus.

The free conference will feature informative workshops and panels featuring educators and teacher training programs from around the Valley.

“The event is a way to provide information about teaching to our college students, high school students and the community,” said James Preston, WHCL Dean of Educational Services. “We have some prime-time current educators who come to speak to our students on a variety of relevant topics to inform them and prepare them for the teaching profession.”

The conference will include a panel on teacher preparation programs in the Central Valley, workshops with local teachers and a presentation on taking the next step in the education field.

Representatives from California State University, Fresno; Brandman University; Fresno Pacific University; and Grand Canyon University will also speak.

Lunch is included and attendees will also be able to take part in a raffle.

The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the WHCL conference room, room 253.

Anyone interested in attending can sign up at tiny.cc/teachcon2016.
