The West Hills Community College District won nine awards for its marketing work from the National Council on Marketing and Public Relations during the NCMPR's annual awards dinner Sept. 29 in San Diego.

“It’s an honor to lead our small but mighty marketing team,” said Amber Myrick, director of marketing, communications and public information for the West Hills Community College District. “All colleges in attendance were complimentary of the work we produced and interested in how we accomplish what we do with such a small team. Our work is relevant to our demographic and has set the standard high for other community and technical colleges.”

WHCCD won five first-place awards, two second-place and two third-place awards. The first-place awards were given for excellence in social media advertising, social media and online marketing campaigns and radio advertising.

WHCCD was also recognized with first place awards for the production of a viewbook for West Hills College Coalinga’s international students program and for its work relating to the promotion of a story about WHCC student Alex Avalos and his success in the world of agriculture app creation.

Two second-place medallions were earned for vehicle wraps produced by the department for West Hills Coalinga and for a series of search brochures.

The two bronze, third-place awards were earned for social media advertising and microsite design.
