The lanes at Kings County Bowl will be closed Saturday and possibly through Aug. 1 due to extensive roof repairs.
After part of the ceiling collapsed a few weeks ago, co-owner Tom Ross said an engineer told him the roof was unsafe and had to be replaced.
The closure leaves local bowling fans without a place to practice the sport in Kings County for months. Ross is hoping to block off the lane area and keep the bar, party room and pro-shop open during the repairs. He expects his regular customers to return once the alley re-opens.
