Libraries: Holiday cards

SELMA – Local libraries are offering a host of ongoing and holiday-related events in the upcoming weeks. Here is a list of opportunities at the Selma and Kingsburg branches of the Fresno County Library system.

Selma Library

Special Event: Teen Cram

  • Ages: Teens
  • When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 9
  • Description: Have you started studying for finals yet? Come to the library to cram for your finals. Snacks will be provided. Laptops will be available to reserve for a limited time. We also have free Wi-Fi for all.

Adult Craft: Altered Books - Book Burst

  • Ages: Adults
  • When: 6:30-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 13
  • Description: Learn how to turn a donated book into a decorative ‘Book Burst.’
  • Where: Selma Library, 2200 Selma St.

Special Event: Pictures with Santa

  • Ages: Families
  • When: 6-7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 14
  • Description: Take a holiday picture with Santa. Stay for a craft and snack after. Bring your own camera or smartphone to take pictures.
  • Where: Selma Library, 2200 Selma St.

The Selma Library is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Closed Sundays.

Kingsburg Library

Special Event: Photos with Santa

  • Ages: Families
  • When: 5-6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7
  • Description: Meet Santa Claus and enjoy winter treats. Bring your own camera to take a photo. Kids can make a craft to take home.

Book Club: Kingsburg Book Club

  • Ages: Adults
  • When: 5:30-6:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7.

Storytime: KC Kids - Come Play With Me

  • Ages: Infants/toddlers, families

Winter Craft: Melting snowman sugar cookie
