Kingsburg Joint Union High School District Board of Trustees will start meeting at 6 p.m. starting with its Monday, Jan. 8 meeting.

KINGSBURG – Residents wishing to attend board meetings of the Kingsburg Joint Union High School District Board of Trustees will have a better opportunity to do so as the group will start meeting at 6 p.m. beginning with its first meeting of the year on Monday, Jan. 8.

Board meetings take place in the board room on campus of Kingsburg High.

Items on the agenda include the superintendent’s and principals’ reports, a bond oversight committee report and a student representative report. Two presentations, one by the art department and another by the special education department, will be given.

A student achievement school plan and annual review will be presented to the board. The appointment of Ivan Nunez as the attendance supervisor will be considered. The Taylor Group will be considered as architects for upcoming district projects.

A second reading of several board policies is also on the agenda. The policies include the selection and evaluation of instructional materials, board elections, board president, district vision and philosophy, superintendent evaluation, teacher’s temporary certifications and employment references. Several of the policies are being updated to reflect new state regulations.

Ashley Paradine is up for approval as a volunteer assistant girls softball coach.

Also on the agenda are items such as accounts payable for December, inter-district attendance permits and next year’s school calendar.

In closed session, the board will discuss the assistant softball coach position. Any action taken in closed session will be reported afterward.
