HANFORD – What a difference a day makes.
Tuesday morning, amid thick fog, there were dozens of vehicle crashes in Kings County and surrounding areas, the worst of which was a 50-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on westbound Highway 198 near 16th Avenue.
CHP officials attributed that massive wreck, which involved cars, pickup trucks and semis, to people driving at unsafe speeds in low visibility conditions.
As of 7:43 a.m. Wednesday morning, the CHP was reporting foggy conditions but no accidents in Kings.
The fog was noticeably less thick Wednesday than it was on Tuesday.
Still, several school districts were on fog delays, including Kings River-Hardwick, Kit Carson, Lakeside, Laton area schools, Lemoore area schools and Riverdale area schools.
