Shari and Mark Grewal are in the process of changing their yard to a beachy, Hawaiian theme, similar to Mama's Fish House on Mauai.
They're replacing their grass with decomposed granite and blue rocks that will represent the ocean. In the front are queen palms, sago palms, iceberg roses, agapanthus, cypress trees, and a chaste tree with a baby volunteer.
As you enter the backyard, you'll see a cute pool house with a spiral staircase going up to a room above.
Brick planters house roses and verbena, and there is a built in brick barbeque. To the left is a covered dining area overlooking the pool which has an area for swimming laps.
The grass is winter rye and if it looks a bit like a golf course it's probably not an accident; Mark and Shari are avid golfers. Many kinds of palm trees line the fences, some lacy, silvery and blue green.
The couple have many plans for the area behind the garage, which include a Tiki bar, a gazebo, and outdoor movies on the back wall. Hopefully, they'll have the home on tour again in the future so we can all see the finished product.
