Community breakfast benefits two organizations
LEMOORE - Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino hosted its monthly community breakfast on Sept. 29 and presented two checks for $5,000 each to Poverello House, of Fresno and to the Tulare County Museum which recently experienced vandalism. A total of $2,268 was raised at the door of the breakfast and Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino and the Santa Rosa Rancheria Tribe matched and rounded the total amount to $5,000, according to the press release. The upcoming Oct. 27 community breakfast will benefit Links for Life. The breakfast features a breakfast buffet, informative community news and business networking, as well as raffle prizes. Valley Christian Home Auxiliary fundraiser: Friday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Valley Christian Home, 508 E. Cameron St., Hanford. Hanford Relay for Life: Saturday, noon till 8:30 a.m. Oct. 15, Hanford High School Neighbor Bowl, Kensington Way and Grangeville Boulevard. The American Cancer Society and Hanford Relay for Life are hosting the annual walk for life. This event raises money for cancer research and to help provide medical services for those stricken by cancer. Open to the public, come out, walk and remember. Cancer touches everyone is some way.
Moonlight Margarita Madness: Saturday, 6-10 p.m., Lemoore Youth Sports Complex, 500 N. 19th Ave., Lemoore. Join Lemoore Youth Sports Foundation as they host a margarita and taco night fundraiser to repave the parking lot of the sports complex. Octoberfest Craft Beer festival: Saturday, 2-6 p.m., Civic Park, 400 N. Douty St., Hanford. Join Hanford Police K9 Foundation as they host the inaugural Octoberfest Beer festival. The goal is to raise money for Hanford's Police K9 Foundation and bring the community and officers together in a relaxed atmosphere. This is a 21 and over event. Cabrillo Club Enchilada sale: Deadline to order Monday. The Kings County Cabrillo Club #9 will hold their annual Enchilada sale. God's Bread Box - Lemoore: Christ Church Anglican Mission, 740 N. 19th Ave., Lemoore. God's Bread Box is a non-profit organization that passes out food to the people in the Lemoore area who are in need of that extra little help. The group welcomes all volunteers to help on the fourth Friday of the month from 2-4 p.m. to package the food stuffs and on fourth Saturday of the month from 8:30-11 a.m. to distribute the food.
