Kings Symphony Orchestra receives grant
MODESTO - The Save Mart Companies C.A.R.E.S. Foundation announced in a press release on Tuesday, six organizations throughout California and Northern Nevada received grants, including the Kings Symphony Orchestra. The Symphony received $ 4,000 from the grant foundation. "Our grant opens the door for student musicians to practice and perform with seasoned professionals. The community then enjoys four concerts each season because of such grants." stated in the press release.
Midnite Run in concert: Saturday, 5 p.m., Laton Rodeo Grounds, 6345 E. Nares Ave., Laton. Come out for a great concert and help raise money for the American Cancer Society. KFUN 92.5 FM is hosting Midnite Run, a Journey tribute band, on the lawn of the Laton Rodeo grounds, vendors, food and drinks. Tickets: $15 general at the gate.

Octoberfest Craft Beer festival: Oct. 14, 2-6 p.m., Civic Park, 400 N. Douty St., Hanford. Join Hanford Police K9 Foundation as they host the inaugural Octoberfest Beer festival. The goal is to raise money for Hanford's Police K9 Foundation and bring the community and officers together in a relaxed atmosphere. This is a 21 and over event. God's Bread Box - Lemoore: Christ Church Anglican Mission, 740 N. 19th Ave., Lemoore. God's Bread Box is a non-profit organization that passes out food to the people in the Lemoore area who are in need of that extra little help. The group welcomes all volunteers to help on the fourth Friday of the month from 2-4 p.m. to package the food stuffs and on fourth Saturday of the month from 8:30-11 a.m. to distribute the food.
