University Dean's List

LA MIRADA — Biola University named approximately 1,500 students to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence. Savanah Hansen of Corcoran and Haley Baker and Kyle Hurt of Hanford received semesters honor. Biola students are placed on the Dean's List to honor those with a grade point average of 3.60 or higher while enrolled in 12 or more credit units and whose cumulative grade point average is at least a 3.20.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Edison Scholars Program: Edison International, the parent company of Southern California Edison, is awarding $40,000 scholarships, paid over four years, to 30 high school students planning to major in STEM fields at four-year accredited U.S. colleges and universities. Scholarship applications are now being accepted through Dec. 1. To apply and get additional eligibility information, visit: edisonscholars.com.

Golden 1 Credit Union Scholarships: Golden 1 Credit Union announced the continuation of its scholarship program, which will award $400,000 in scholarships to qualified applicants this year. The Golden 1 Scholarship program application period will remain open until January 18. World Ag Expo and E.M. Tharp, Inc. scholarship: The “We Believe in Growing” scholarship is two $10,000 scholarships to be given out to students planning to attend a four-year university to major in an agricultural field, disbursed over four years at $2,500 a year. High school seniors from Kings, Tulare, Fresno, Madera and Kern counties are eligible to apply. The students must submit their applications by Jan. 19. Audrey Liebold Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship, being offered by The Kings Players, was established to honor one of the Kings Player’s founders and greatest advocates, Audrey Leibold. Eligible students must be a graduating high school senior and intend to pursue a career and or make a contribution in the field of the Performing Arts. All applications are due by April 1.
