Left Behind

I woke up and cried,

I felt so empty inside.

What do I do now, I thought,

What has the loss of my partner brought.

I so desperately needed my spirits lifted,

So I turned to God,

who is always there to listen.

 I prayed and prayed until I felt peace,

And when I let go,

I felt the sorrow release.

I know joy will return someday soon,

With God at my side

there will be no more doom.

God wants those of us

that are left behind,

to always and forever

be happy, thankful, loving and kind.
