Where are the police?
Editor: The letter I read last weekend concerning people driving and using cell phones was outstanding. The cell phone law was the most short-lived law ever created.
Why do we have laws when they are not enforced? Recently, I drove from the Hanford Mall to the Post Office and noticed no less than seven men and women driving and talking on a cell phone. Why not? There is no worry about getting caught and paying a hefty fine.
The speed limit on Highway 198 is another joke. If you are driving at 70 mph, you are the slowest thing on the road. You never see any law enforcement on 198. And seeing a police car in Lemoore is a rare sight.
Why can't law enforcement simply do their job, enforce the speed limits, do something about the red light runners and especially enforce the cell phone laws? Are these our tax dollars at work?
