Editor: I attended the Council Candidates Forum and I was glad to see such a good turnout. I would like to applaud all the candidates for doing a great job. But today as I'm reading the Hanford Sentinel I'm reminded of Councilman Danny Chin's comment and I quote, "My experience is necessary for Hanford to take the next step."

I was shocked. There are presently five council members and you are saying that none of them could do it without you. Also, saying that they need your experience since Marcie Buford is leaving is a slap in the face for the rest of them. Dave Ayers, Joaquin Gonzales and Dave Thomas especially since they have all been there for you in the past. Most candidates attack their opponent and not someone who has been there for them.

Mr. Chin, you claim that you have experience, but, I'm wondering now. You mentioned that the homeless was a county problem, but, the homeless are hanging out on city property so I would say that it is our problem and should have been addressed. A lot of people claim that they have a lot of experience but, if you look at all the experience all the politicians in Sacramento claim to have, look where their experience has taken us today, deep in debt. I believe that whichever candidate gets in would do just as good a job as you or even better. A voice makes a big difference.
