Tip-a-cop charity event tonight

HANFORD -- The California Highway Patrol and Applebee's Restaurant present Tip-a-cop, a fundraiser to benefit Special Olympics Northern California. The event takes place today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the local Applebee's, 1665 W. Lacey Blvd.
Officers and CHP officials will be seating and serving customers and earning tips, and the event raises money to help provide local Special Olympics athletes with free year-round training and competition in 19 sports.
The public is invited.
